Your stuff deserves a second chance, so we find someone who needs it. If it can't go as-is, we try to repair it or repurpose it for a new beginning. We're connected to a very diverse mixture of up-cycling groups and maker communities.

If something can be recycled, even if it requires disassembly to achieve, we will do it properly. While that's harder than it should be with the system we've been given, we know the ins-and-outs of local recycling requirements. Anything left over gets laid to rest in a landfill... but you'd be surprised how little is left over after all is said and done!

We aim to reduce landfill waste by connecting unwanted household and business items to local organizations who can reuse, reimagine, or recycle them, all while fostering community engagement and equitable employment.

All team members are paid a living wage, with opportunities for shared equity and shared growth. Read more in the FAQs.
Most companies outline a vague set of "values" to which they talk but don't walk. We embed progressive values directly into our charter for existence, with real consequences if we fall short.
It's no longer good enough for a business to exist merely for self-interested ends. The time is past for considering the well-being of the entire Earth in what it means to be successful.
We’re committed to making your experience as smooth and straightforward as possible.
We are in the process of getting certified as a B-Corp. (Benefit Corporation). To learn more about B-Corp, click here. But, in a nutshell, it means we still seek profit, just not at the expense of our workforce, our communities, or the environment. B-Corps consider the full extent of our effects on this world, socially and physically, in the very design of our business model and in the way we operate our businesses. Exploitation is out, interconnectedness is in. This allows us to operate with the speed, scale, and efficiency of a for-profit business while maintaining the purpose-focused mindset of a non-profit, without constantly applying for grants and begging for donations. The details for our specific business are still being worked so stay tuned for more information. Follow us on social media to stay abreast of it all.
In this early stage of development, we're going to have to be a bit picky and focused. That means fewer items will be taken from fewer clients. We hate that, and we are working so hard to grow our base to make this easier on everyone. For now, we're focused on items that are more easily donate, repaired, recycled, or trashed... things like household goods (furniture, kitchenware, appliances, electronics, toys, clothing, etc.) and some business goods (desks, chairs, electronics, paper products, cabinets, etc.). We're not taking yard waste, chemicals, construction waste, paints. solvents, organic matter, etc. To get a free in-person quote, reach out any time and Jason will come by to see what you have.
We're just getting started, so we're taking things one step at a time while we assess demand and build our team and processes. That means we have to be a bit picky at first. Please don't hesitate to request a free quote, but we understand if you can't wait. If you sign up to be notified, we'll keep you up to date on our growing capacity.
We are doing our best to keep overhead low, especially in the beginning. We rent our trucks, rent our storage space, and pay contractors until we can hire. It's a tough business to break into and we want to ensure that cost isn't a barrier to ethical junk removal for our clients. Otherwise, what are we even doing all of this for?
Our cast of partners is always rotating and growing. We work with local organizations that are aligned with our values so that no one feels like our ethical standards are all talk. A few of our founding partnerships include:
- Boulevard Church Free Store
- Brown Elephant
- Housing Forward
- Economy Shop
- Habitat for Humanity
- The Waste Shed
- Creative Chicago Reuse Exchange
- ReStore
- Your Org? (Want to be added to this list? Reach out!)
We'll stop by to take a look at your stuff and give you an estimate on the spot. Due to being new and small, we will only be able to take a select few clients for now.
